Ancient Capital (Pty) Ltd, is a private equity firm specialising in leveraged buyouts and venture capital investments. We target profitable and growing operating companies that are not publicly traded on a stock exchange and have strong business models.

Since our founding in 1997, Ancient Capital has raised substantial capital and has invested in more than 10 growing companies.

Our leveraged buyout fund targets equity investments in more mature companies that are profitable and generate operating cash flows.

Over time, successful entrepreneurs may have concentrated all or most of their wealth in one company, however, this created unnecessary risk for them and their families. Our venture capital fund targets equity investments in high potential start-up companies from the early to the late stages of development and right through to the launch of the company. We target start-up companies with high potential that are too small to raise capital in the public markets and too immature to secure a bank loan. We bring management and technical expertise as well as capital to these investments.
